M.Sc. Environmental Science is a 2-year full-time Post Graduate program including courses on ecology and biodiversity, environmental chemistry and instrumentation, natural resource management, environmental pollution, environmental geosciences, disaster management, statistics, environmental impact assessment etc. which are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the interrelationships between the natural environment and human activities. The program addresses environmental management from a technical, social and policy perspective to mitigate the effects of ecosystem degradation and presents a multidisciplinary understanding of the environment with an aim to prepare trained competitive professionals to solve different environmental problems.

  • Higher qualification (PhD/NET) opens doors for academic career as Assistant Professors in the Universities.
  • The program is multidisciplinary and therefore, the candidate can apply for the position of environmental/conservation scientist in various disciplines in the government and private sector.
  • The students can also look for respectable positions in CPCB/SPCB as an expert in environmental pollution (air and water quality expert).
  • The international, national, regional organizations like GIZ, UNDP, UNEP, FRI, ZSI, BSI, WII, IISWC, NEERI, NIOS, Wadia Institute, etc., also offer career opportunities to PG students. Besides, students passionate to work for environment as an activist can join NGOs (Navdanya, HESCO, PSI, CSE, ATREE, WWF etc.).
