Course Overview

The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) is a four-year undergraduate program designed under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, offering students the opportunity to specialize in emerging and impactful areas such as Research, Entrepreneurship, and Academia (with a focus on Finance and Accounting). The first two years of the program provide a strong foundation in core commerce disciplines including accounting, economics, business law, and management. In the third and fourth years, students choose a specialization that aligns with their academic or professional interests. Those opting for Research engage in advanced study of research methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing, culminating in an undergraduate thesis—making them eligible for an Honours with Research degree. The Entrepreneurship specialization focuses on innovation, venture creation, startup ecosystems, and entrepreneurial finance, enabling students to build their own businesses or contribute to startup environments. The Academia track, ideal for students aiming for teaching or research careers in commerce, emphasizes advanced finance and accounting, educational pedagogy, and scholarly writing. Upon successful completion of the program and specialization-specific capstone projects, students are awarded a B.Com (Honours) degree, with or without a research designation, depending on the nature of their final-year work.
