SGRR UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES 79TH INDEPENCE DAY WITH THE GLORY OF THE TRICOLOUR AND THE SPIRIT OF PATRIOTISM

Amid the fragrance of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the proud flutter of the national flag, Shri Guru Ram Rai University and all institutions under the SGRR Group celebrated the 79th Independence Day with unparalleled zeal, national pride, and boundless joy.

At the sacred premises of Shri Darbar Sahib, Sajjadanashin Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj hoisted the National Flag at 8:00 a.m., paying heartfelt tributes to the immortal martyrs of India’s freedom struggle. Extending warm Independence Day greetings to all countrymen, students, and the university fraternity, he remarked,

“The Tricolour is not merely a flag; it is the soul of our nation and a symbol of sacrifice. Let us all pledge to uphold its honour and dignity for all time to come.”

At the SGRR University campus, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kumud Saklani unfurled the flag at 9:00 a.m., urging everyone to play an active role in nation-building. She commended the efforts of faculty members, staff, and students who contribute to the progress of the university, stating that “Education and service are the true foundations of a strong nation.”

The disciplined march-past by NCC cadets and the vibrant cultural performances by students left the audience spellbound. Patriotic songs, dances, and poems infused the air with the spirit of devotion to the motherland. Students reiterated their pledge that Independence Day is not just about hoisting the Tricolour, but also about renewing the resolve to take India to greater heights through education, service, and values.

At the Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Principal Dr. Ashok Nayak led the flag-hoisting ceremony, offering tributes to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation’s liberty. The celebrations witnessed the presence of University Registrar Dr. Lokesh Gambhir, University Coordinator Dr. R.P. Singh, Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Malvika Kandpal, all Heads of Departments, faculty members, and a large gathering of students.

The day concluded with a united message — that the legacy of freedom, earned through sacrifice and perseverance, must be honoured by building a stronger, educated, and self-reliant India, keeping the Tricolour flying high in the sky of pride.
