School of Engineering & Technology – Induction Program 2025 (Day 4)

The 4th Day of Induction program started with an educational visit to the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), located at Vigyan Dhaam, Jhaajra, Dehradun. The students were introduced to the wonders of Science and Technology through an engaging and interactive experience. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed into the Regional Science Centre, a vibrant hub of Scientific exhibits and activities. The day began with hands-on science activities that demonstrated basic principles of physics, chemistry, and biology in fun and accessible ways.

One of the highlights of the visit was the Himalaya Gallery, where students learned about the geological and ecological significance of the Himalayan region. The gallery showcased models, visuals, and interactive displays that explained the formation of the mountains, biodiversity, and the impact of climate change on this fragile ecosystem. Moving forward, the students visited the Frontiers of Technology Gallery, which featured innovations in Robotics, Space Technology, and Renewable energy. These exhibits provided insights into cutting-edge developments and inspired students to think about future possibilities in Science and Engineering.

The excitement continued at the 3D Theatre, where students watched two captivating films—one on the Solar System and another on the underwater world. The immersive experience brought celestial bodies and marine life, leaving the students awestruck and more connected to the natural world. The final segment of the visit was the Taramandal (Planetarium), where students were taken on a virtual journey through the night sky. They learned about constellations, planetary movements, and the vastness of the universe in a dome-shaped theatre that simulated a real-time celestial experience.

Following an enriching visit to UCOST where students explored the wonders of innovation and scientific inquiry, the afternoon unfolded with a burst of creativity during the Talent Hunt activity. Energized and inspired, students returned to campus ready to express themselves through art, music, and performance. The Talent Hunt became a lively platform where young minds shifted from scientific curiosity to artistic flair—singing, dancing, storytelling, and showcasing skills that reflected their diverse passions. It was a day that blended intellect with imagination, leaving students not only informed but also empowered to shine in their own unique ways.
