Lecture-cum-Workshop on "Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Biodiversity Conservation for Sustainability"

With the blessings of the Honourable President of SGRRU, Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji Maharaj, the Department of Botany, School of Basic and Applied Sciences has successfully organized a two-day lecture-cum-workshop on the theme “Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Biodiversity Conservation for Sustainability” on 2nd and 3rd May 2025.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar, who also felicitated the guest speaker of the day, Dr. Sarvesh Suyal, Assistant Professor, DBS (PG) College, Dehradun. Dr. Suyal delivered an enlightening lecture on “Climate Change and the Issue of Sustainable Development”, which was highly informative and provided students with valuable insights into the current environmental challenges.

On 3rd May, Dr. A.B. Bajpai, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Botany, DBS PG College, Dehradun, delivered a lecture on “Impact of Climate change on Crops”. His session further deepened participants' understanding of biodiversity conservation and traditional ecological knowledge.

The program was a great success, fostering awareness and dialogue among students and faculty on sustainability and ecological preservation.
