Shri Guru Ram Rai Maharaj's cheers resounded in Nagar Parikrama, Jhanda Fair

Under the leadership of Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj, Sajjadansheen of Shri Darbar Sahib, Dehradun, historical city circumambulation took place on Thursday. Wherever the Nagar Parikrama took place, the people of Doon wholeheartedly welcomed the Sangats. During the Nagar Parikrama, the residents of Doon kept chanting Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj and Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj throughout the way. Doon residents wait throughout the year to welcome the historic Nagar Parikrama, which is organized on the third day of Sri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj's birthday (the third day of Shri Jhande Ji's ascension). Sangat was warmly welcomed everywhere on the route of Nagar Parikrama. In the midst of bhajan kirtan, the Gaddinshin Shrimahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj blessed the devotees. The residents of Doon made attractive reception arrangements including proper arrangements for langar and food and drink at various places on the route of the historic city circumambulation.

The historic city circumambulation started at 7.30 am from Sri Darbar Sahib premises. The Nagar Parikrama reached Shri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Bindal via Kanwali Road. Here Prasad of gram, puffed rice and jaggery was distributed to the Sangat. From here the Nagar Parikrama reached Tilak Road, Tagore Villa, Ghantaghar. On reaching the clock tower of the city parikrama, as if everything had come to a standstill for some time. On the beat of the drum, the people of Doon warmly welcomed the Guru Sangat by spreading their arms. Sangat used to chant Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj and the devotees of Doon used to shower flowers on him. Thousands of devotees thronged the clock tower and its surrounding area to witness this spectacle. From Ghantaghar to Paltan Bazar, Nagar Parikrama entered Reetha Mandi, passing in front of Lakkhibagh Police Chowki, from here Sangats participating in Nagar Parikrama and Doon residents reached Sri Guru Ram Rai Public School, Bombay Bagh, distributed sugarcane prasad to Sangats.
