A guest lecture was conducted by School of Engineering and Technology for students of SET on 07-March-2025 at 12:00 noon in SBAS Auditorium. The resource person for the event was Mr. Neelesh Yadav, Scientist & Head of the IT & GIS Division at the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, a premier Forestry Research Institute under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Ministry of Environment, Forest & Research Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India.

With a Strong academic foundation and nearly two decades of research and academic experience, he specializes in Information and Technology, GIS & Remote Sensing, Biodiversity Informatics, Artificial Intelligence and the digitization of natural history collections. He delivered an enlightening talk on the topic “Role of AI in Biodiversity Conservation and Forest Management”. He also shared his life experiences and gave the students opportunity to ask questions related to AI. The students found the session very informative and interesting. Prof (Dr) Sonika Kandari, Dean Set and all faculty members attended the session.
