Studies even show that music is good for health and the brain, providing positive physical, mental and emotional responses when people simply listen to music as well as when they play or sing it.It inspires ,encourages and brings people together so we can say it’s very important for Human Development.

Objectives of Music Department:

  1. To provide an education that will enable to make successful career in the fields of music and entertainment industry professions.
  2. To develop a deeper understanding of musical notation system, a strong foundation on theory through standard melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structure.
  3. To make learners familiar with music styles and genres from different cultures and historical periods.
  4. To encourage students to acquire the career development and interpersonal techniques to advance further in career.
  5. To provide training for interested learners who are not music major.
  6. The Department provides training in almost every style of singing like Dhrupad, Dhamar, Khayal, Tarana, Thumri, Dadra, Sugam Sangeet, Folk through its planned and innovative courses, which enables the students to reveal themselves in a versatile manner.
  7. To promote research in the field of music. 8) To promote Garhwali folk music.
