ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF ENTOMOLOGY

The Department of Entomology was established in the year 2019 at School of Agricultural Sciences, SGRR University, Dehradun, with an objective of achieving excellence in teaching & research in the field of Entomology. We provide quality education to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture & M.Sc. (Ag.) Entomology students and conduct innovative research keeping in view the future prospects to students, current problems of farmers and sustainability of Agro-Ecosystem. The Department of Entomology has a good network of Faculties, staff and students and committed to create a culture of brilliance to become the leading Entomological Teachings, Research and Extension centre at SGRR University. 

Highlights of Department:

• Well-equipped Entomology lab for  Insect Morphology
• Fairly good collection of insects species for taxonomic identification of different insect orders and families
• Bee keeping Unit for conducting research on honey bee & training of students during RAWE, AIA and ELP.
• Modern equipments for mass production of Egg parasitoid,Trichogramma spp.
• Separate Entomological Research Block at Agricultural Research farm of School of Agricultural Sciences for M.Sc. (Ag.) Students
