ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY

The Department of Agronomy came into existence at the time of establishment of the Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun in 2017. It played a pivotal role in providing linkage to allied departments and constituent schools of University.

The department offers M. Sc. Agronomy and Ph.D. Agronomy programmes in six fields of specialization viz. crop production, nutrient management, weed management, water management, crop ecology and organic farming.

A well knit U.G., P.G. and Ph.D. programme with updated syllabi has been operating in the department. The department shares more than 25% of course load of undergraduate (B. Sc. Hons. Agriculture and B. Sc. Hons Horticulture) teaching. Our students are holding key positions in various agriculture department, colleges, NGOs, Banks, agriculture based industries. The department has also the mandate to develop cost effective technology for efficient and optimal use of resources.
