OVERVIEW
The Department of Botany is one of the reputable academic in SGRR School of Basic & Applied Sciences, SGRRU. Department have an experienced faculty members to act as course instructors and research supervisors in an environment rich in advance laboratory and support facilities. The department is known for its outstanding research activities particularly in the field of Ecology and Conservation, Taxonomy, Mycology and Plant Pathology, Microbiology and other thrust areas of Plant Sciences. Besides these, the department is also providing quality education through specialization courses at UG, PG and Ph.D level in different areas viz., Biodiversity and Conservation, Seed Pathology, Plant Health Management, Biotechnology, Mycology and Plant Pathology, Plant Genetic Resources. The Department has well equipped research laboratory and a herbarium. . Botanical garden in under construction. The excellent infrastructure, teaching faculty of the best kind of the Department ensuring quality education such as interaction among the students, parents and staff along with training and placement cell ensure a bright future to its students.
