The Department of Community Health Nursing is involved in the training of under-graduate and post-graduate nursing students in the field of Community Health Nursing. Students are trained in the areas of family assessment and community assessment to identify health problems of people living in the community. Students are further trained to make referrals for people identified to have problems and to give health education with emphasis on primary prevention. The community health nursing department guides to think critically about the role and core competencies of community health nursing in promoting health, preventing disease, and restoring health. The nursing process is applied to individuals, families, aggregates, and communities within diverse population and ecological contexts.
